Sullair’s History

Sullair is an industry leading global manufacturer of superior compressed air solutions. Sullair was founded in 1965 and shortly thereafter we produced our first portable air compressor. Since our founding 50 years ago, Sullair has continued to grow and evolve by introducing new product lines and a full air solutions system.

In 1968, after Sullair established itself in markets that use portable compressors, we introduced stationary rotary screw compressors to the industrial market. Responding to market demand for clean and dry air in specialized applications, Sullair developed air treatment systems for its compressors and, in response to customer need, developed a line of proprietary compressor fluids and related products. Sullair has also utilized its rotary screw expertise to produce high efficiency two-stage and encapsulated compressors, vacuum systems, and air tools.

Sullair has remained a pioneer of air compressor technology, delivering the first 500 psig portable compressor in 2003, introducing the Industrial S-Energy® compressor line in 2006, unveiling ShopTek compressors to the industrial market in 2008, and introducing the Sullair Certified REMAN program in 2014.

In 2012, our parent company, United Technologies (UTC), divested its industrial division to The Carlyle Group and BC Partners, both private equity firms. In early 2013, a new parent company was created called Accudyne Industries consisting of Sullair, Milton Roy, Sundyne and a number of other smaller, niche-focused brands. Accudyne Industries was created to leverage the synergies amongst these brands and continue to innovate and expand its footprint.

Sullair Today

While Sullair has continued to expand and evolve our product offerings, we have remained solely focused on compressed air solutions, a rarity in the industry.
